Scope

This document describes the Tracking Direct FMB920 installation requirements.

FMB920 kit components

No Background

Transfer of product

The Tracking Direct FMB920 product once installed and recorded on the Tracking Direct database is transferable between vehicles. This must be done in conjunction with our support forms to allow Tracking Direct database updates.

Securing the tracking device

The objective is to mount the hardware firmly and route the cables from it to the fuse box as unobtrusively as possible, as not to impede or interfere with the driver’s operation of the vehicle in any way.

The unit is to be mounted with the label facing upwards towards the sky.
The unit and wires will need to be routed and cable-tied away from moving objects such as the steering column and pedals.

Care should be taken to avoid wires hanging down into either foot well.

Do not mount in the inflation area of airbags or the impact area of the head or knees. Search carefully for an area that will avoid interference with displays, safety equipment and controls.

The unused wires on the loom must not be cut but wound up and secured tidily.

FMB920 connections

Red – Permanent Live
Black – Ground
Yellow – Switched Ignition

Connections to the vehicle

The unit must be installed with the writing facing uppermost
Red wire to a permanent 12V / 24V supply (+30) using a Red 5A fuse.
Yellow wire to an Ignition circuit using a 1A fuse.
Black wire to a ground..

Test overview

They are two LED’s at the rear of the unit, if they are both blinking every second then the unit is operating as expected. If they are not then the installer must contact Tracking Direct for further analysis.

If the installation is for anything else other than a standard install, then the engineer must contact Tracking Direct to commission remotely.
