Scope

This document describes the Tracking Direct FMT100 installation requirements.

Transfer of product

The Tracking Direct FMT100 product once installed and recorded on the Tracking Direct database is transferable between vehicles. This must be done in conjunction with our support forms to allow Tracking Direct database updates.

Securing the tracking device

Locate the battery in your vehicle. Remove the battery cover, if
present, to access the battery.

Clean an area on the battery where you want to attach the FMT100 device and use the provided double side tape to attach the device to the battery. When doing so please ensure the GNSS antenna and LED indicators are facing up.

Loosen the nut (no need to remove it) on your battery cable clamp for the Positive(+) Terminal, slide the RED fork connector of the device behind the bolt and retighten the clamp to normal torque specifications.

Repeat for the Negative(-) Clamp side using the BLACK fork connector.

Note: When installing in a 24v vehicle ensure that the unit is connected
to one battery only and not across them both.

Black – Ground

Connections to the vehicle

The unit must be installed with the writing facing uppermost
Red wire to Positive(+) Terminal

Black wire to Negative(-) Terminal

Test overview

They are two LED’s at the rear of the unit, if they are both blinking every second then the unit is operating as expected. If they are not then the installer must contact Tracking Direct for further analysis.

If the installation is for anything else other than a standard install, then the engineer must contact Tracking Direct to commission remotely.
